“We cannot say enough about the Across Generations pen pal program that our residents have participated in along with Western Students during the pandemic. With Long Term Care being so high risk for Covid-19, we wanted to ensure safe programming for our residents that still engaged and fulfilled them. The pen pal program with Across Generations was a perfect solution to be conducted safely, while helping to connect our residents to the local London community.

The program was highly received with residents smiling ear-to-ear on letter day- eager to write their responses. They spoke with their pen pals about their careers, families and favourite hobbies and were always inspiring the students to pursue their dreams. The residents have stated many times that they hope to meet their pen pal in person one day soon.”
